We've been memorizing the sermon on the Mount as a church.

And many of you have been doing that, a fighter verse or two or three each week.

And it is providential, I think, that the most recent paragraph, which we finish memorizing this week is just about as clear and powerful a passage on living by faith in future grace as in all the Bible. So let me see if I can do it for you. I'm almost tempted

to say with you, but I think if you tried to talk with me I would get all mixed up and wouldn't be able to

to say it. It's Matthew 6 24 to 34 maybe it's 25 to 34.

Therefore, do not be anxious about your life,

what you will eat or what you will drink

or about your body, what you will put on.

Is not life more than food in the body, more than clothing?

Look at the birds of the air.

They neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, yet your father feeds them.

Are you not of much more value than the birds?

And which of you by being anxious could add one hour to his span of life.

And why are you anxious about clothing?

Consider the lilies of the field.

They neither toil or spin or, yet Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed

like one of these. If God so closed the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven

will he not much more clothe you oh you of little faith so don't be anxious saying

what will we eat or what we drink or what will we wear.
