Alright Aaron what do you think of the fifth episode here.

I thought is another good one i will say that there is a few there's a few quibbles i have with some of the stuff on terminus.

Actually some of the stuff on the ship to that could be just like maybe plot holes or like sometimes we talk about how.

The tale in the bishest story sometimes you just have to you have to ask your viewers to make a leap.

I always talk like metaphorically you gotta like go down a couple miles of dirt and gravel road to get back onto the highway.

Or it could be that like there is some next level stuff going on that i haven't anticipated none of these things are plot holes and it's all going to pay off in the episodes come on halfway through that's happened already a couple times in the course of the season.

So i really i really enjoyed it um what did you think i yeah i so so anybody's listen to this podcast over the last four weeks here knows that the.

Best part of this show to me is the empire stuff and so obviously that is conspicuously missing this episode i know we're getting back to it next episode because apple likes to publish teasers for their stuff.

So i will say with that said that i still enjoyed this episode pretty pretty well i liked the point of no return sort of analogy they had with black holes i liked the.

Uh trying to extricate yourself from a cult and sort of how that happens that they displayed with gale um the anacround plan seems to be unfolding even though i think there is another layer to that i don't think we've we've.

I don't think their goal was to crash one of the imperial ships on terminus um no i'm not going to comment dear one so i was like kind of blow it away it stacked up on the planet so yeah so.

I don't know there's more to come on that i'm certain but the other stuff they're doing especially with gale um i i really liked i know it's it's not.

You know it's taking us back in time right and some people might look at that is like a step backwards instead of forward.

But in storytelling terms i feel like it was warranted and it connected me more with this character.

So going forward maybe they can do more stuff with her that i will care about more because of these scenes.

Yeah i saw that one of the most common criticisms uh was that why are we going back and the first 15 minutes of stuff about gale that we already knew because the pilot episode definitely kind of told us that uh how would you respond to those criticisms uh i would say we knew the facts but we didn't feel the facts um there's difference between intellectually understanding things and emotionally feeling those things happen and i i think as someone who's lives through uh.

An extra case especially you i think you had a similar sort of experience to gale coming out of the cult that we both grew up in um that stuff really hit home and i started to really understand gale on a whole other level understand.

You know not just that she's a brilliant mathematician but she's always been curious right this has always been a part of who she is.

Right right and you know the how it would be very attractive to her harry selden trying to tackle a disaster head on and and and avert as much human misery as possible through the application of logic and reason uh versus her home planet that's bearing it head in the water uh rather than confront something.

And i have a sneaking suspicion that in the next uh four episodes or five episodes ever much is left in this season
