Hello everyone and welcome to the Girls Camp podcast. I'm your host, Haley Rawl.

And if you are also navigating a faith deconstruction like me or simply find yourself fascinated in

Mormonism and religion generally then you are in the right place. Today's conversation

is a little bit different than usual.

I'm joined by the lovely Nicole Mitchell.

She is the host of her own podcast called Elephants in the Room.

She grew up Mormon, had a tumultuous home life which includes addiction and

her close family and foster care. She ended up getting married in the temple a

Mormon temple marriage at 18 and then divorced pretty shortly thereafter.

Then she developed a deep connection with the Jesus of the Bible that in large part was a catalyst

for her leaving Mormonism. Why this conversation is a bit different

is because she now identifies really strongly as a follower of Jesus and a believer in the Bible.

And though I've interviewed, I think a handful of people who identify as Christian

after leaving Mormonism it hasn't as much been a topic of conversation as it is

in today's episode.

As you all know, I have some major personal hang-ups

around Christianity.

I made the same disclaimer I'm about to make right now

when I brought my mom and sisters on the podcast who are believing Mormons, where I said

that Girls Camp is not meant to be a bridge builder between people of faith and people who have deconstructed faith.
