woman who has inspired me in so many ways and is one of the main reasons that I started

my wearer series. And that is J.C. Lee DuGard. She has an incredible story. I first found

out about her after listening actually to her book a few years back. Twice, I listened

to it twice because it is such an inspirational story. This is J.C., beautiful little girl.

She was 11 years old at the time of her kidnapping and her kidnapping occurred on June 10, 1991

in South Lake Tahoe, California. She has stepfather Carl, a mother, Terry, and a little sister

named Shada. The parents had moved to South Lake Tahoe nine months before her abduction.

They thought it would be safer there than Orange County, California, where they had lived

before. It was just a normal school day. Her mom was at work. J.C. was in fifth grade
