Welcome back, my friends. It is time for you and for me to get our minds aligned with the truth of God.

We have been digging into a subject the Bible refers to as the fear of the Lord. And today I want to

look at a biblical example in a real life of a real individual of how he learned this concept of the fear of the Lord.

And it's one of those stories that is painful to read

because the circumstances this man went through were horrendous from a human

perspective. All kinds of terrible things happen. Now of course I'm talking

about the book of Job. You know the Book of Job.

The Book of Job is probably one of the oldest books in the Bible in terms of when it was written.

And it is a fascinating story in a number of levels, but let me summarize the story for you very quickly.

And then we'll get into the lessons that Job learned and how he learned them.

You see, the Book of Job characterizes Job himself as being a righteous man a man who

feared the Lord a man who was very concerned about living his life rightly and his children and his family

living their lives rightly he wanted to honor God in the way that he lived and the book of Job throws this plot twist into it.

And I'm not saying to manufacture something.

I'm saying it's just the way it recounts it and the way it tells the story is very intriguing because it says that what was

happening behind the scenes in Job's life is that God himself pointed out to

Satan, the devil.

How Rightiously Job lived his life.

And Satan responds by saying, yeah, but if you let bad things happen to him, he will curse you.

And so God, get this my friends, God says to Satan, do your worst.

Just spare his life, that's the only restriction you have.

And my friend, stop for a moment and check your own spirit, check your own heart.
