Well, there's the symbolism and then there's the legal effect.

I think just the symbolism that finally we're closer to all meaning all, and that the Constitution protects women explicitly, finally, is important.

The struggle for an equal rights amendment traces back to 1923 when feminist Alice Paul

wrote the words that became ERA.
