Today is Fortnite more than a video game.

The most interesting thing about Fortnite is probably not that a lot of people play it or that it's worth

loads of money. We already know that. It's that its founders have created an entirely new behavior

and way of experiencing the world that's going up against

Netflix, Facebook, Google and Amazon in the battle over how you spend your free time.

Now you might not be into gaming right now, like me, but the creators of Fortnight have a vision

of technology that's so ambitious that there's a chance you're going to feel completely

lost without it in five years time. It all

depends on something called the Metiverse and no I'd never heard of it either. An

alternate digital reality where people live, work and socialise. Hard to comprehend now, but if someone

told you as a child that you'd have friends you never met living in a computer in your hand,

you wouldn't have believed them either. So first of all we

wanted to hear from a fan. Hi my name's Charlie I'm 13 and me and my friends play

four night all the time. I think I want people to know that overnight is just the

future or entertainment and it's just one step in a new direction really and it doesn't

mean that kids aren't going to go outside they aren't going to play football

they aren't going to do sports anymore they aren't going to play with their friends it just

means it's a different way of socializing as it is calling someone it's just
