Welcome to our rosary meditation.

This evening, my wife Sandy and I were so blessed to be Rosary on the Road in Rossville, Kansas, at the home of the O'Neils,

where many families and a whole bunch of kids gathered to cook out,

to share friendship and good conversation, and then we prayed the rosary.

It was so beautiful.

All these families, kids of all ages, playing volleyball and throwing the frisbee and throwing the baseball.

Catching snakes? Catching a big frog. What a beautiful evening.

So if you are anywhere in the Topeka, Rossville area on Friday night,

they do this every Friday night and they want everyone to know they are all welcome.

Now we got, we did pray the rosary, but we got knocked out by the cicadas.

So now because of the cicadas and some technical difficulties, my wife is good enough to record the rosary again with me as we drive

back to Kansas City. So let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for. We're traveling through the virtues.

Today, the virtue of fortitude.

The virtue of fortitude is to do the right thing even when we don't want to.

Fortitude enables us to overcome the strong feelings of dislike or fear that prevent us from doing what we should.

In this way, fortitude enables us to overcome obstacles, threats, suffering, difficulties, and fear in the pursuit of good.

The primary fear which fortitude helps us overcome is the fear of death.

That is why fortitude is the virtue of the soldier, willing to give his life to save his people.

Fortitude is the virtue of the Christian who is willing to sacrifice what is lesser
