Welcome to our Rosary Meditation. Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

The virtue of fortitude is to do what is right even when we don't want to. Fortitude enables us to overcome the strong feelings of dislike or fear that prevent us from doing what we should.

In this way, fortitude enables us to overcome obstacles and sufferings in the pursuit of happiness.

Now, the primary fear which fortitude helps us overcome is the fear of death.

That's why fortitude is the virtue of the

soldier willing to give his life to save his people. And it's the virtue of the Christian martyr

who is willing to sacrifice what is lesser for the sake of what is greater. And the greatest thing

is our relationship with God in the promise of heaven.

I think John Wayne captures the essence of fortitude when he says,

Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway.

Our father who art in heaven, hallow it be your name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us to stay our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us,

and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us for me, will amen.

May I am Mary, full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women.

Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God.
