My guest today has made one of the more extraordinary U-turns in recent political history.

Anthony Scaramucci is a millionaire investment manager from New York City who

became an ardent admirer of and cheerleader for Donald Trump during the campaign for the presidency

in 2016. Scaramucci was drafted in to Trump's transition team and later served as White

House Director of Communications.

He was humiliatingly fired after just 11 days, but even then he stayed loyal to Donald Trump.

But that changed in the summer. After Mr. Trump told four U.S. Congresswomen of color to go back

where they came from, Scaramucci flipped.

He's since become an arch critic of the president and has been subject to Twitter tirades from

the White House as a result. And now, Anthony Scaramucci is backing the Democratic Party's decision

to begin impeachment proceedings based on the president's recent dealings with

the Ukrainian leader, Volodymyr Zelensky. Washington politics is about to get even nastier and more

polarized, but will impeachment backfire on the president's opponents? Well, Anthony Scaramucci joins me now on the line from New York City.

The Democratic leadership, after a lot of agonizing, has decided to launch impeachment proceedings,

impeachment investigations into President Donald Trump.

Do you believe they've made the right decision?

I don't really think it was necessarily a right or wrong decision.

I sort of feel it was the only decision.
