He has over 30 years of experience in working with the human factors in human-computer interface design and instruction across a significant variety of platforms, contexts, and engagement venues. He provided “user-friendly design” consulting and training to Fortune 500 companies and National Security Agency. Prior to forming his own company, he worked Human Factors International, and successfully led the largest design project at its time, culminating in a full redesign of www.ninds.nih.gov. It won a “Best of the Feds” award. While studying cinematic arts in the late 1960s at USC, he briefly worked on crew for filmmaker George Lucas. After college, he served overseas in the military during the Vietnam War, earning Distinguished Officer Award from US Air Force Officer Training School. In the early 1970s he completed training as a teacher of Transcendental Meditation and has taught students for over a half-century. He also directed Louis Wilson’s great video camera work of the Twin Galaxies 1082 Video Game Olympics and the famous 1983 Life Magazine Video Game Champions photo shoot. That footage appeared in films like Chasing Ghosts: Bevond the Arcade and King of Kong: Fistful of Quarters (both 2007) as well as Frag (2008) and CNN’s documentary *The Eighties”. He earned a PhD in Instructional Design, Film Theory, and Science Education from University of Iowa. He received a Master/s in Interdisciplinary Studies from Maharishi University of Management.
