Brighton in those days was a thriving, bustling Russian-speaking community.

This is Andrew McCabe, the former acting director of the FBI.

We drive down Brighton Beach Avenue and the signs for all the stores were written in both English and Russian.

It was not uncommon to walk down Brighton Beach Avenue and just not hear anyone speaking anything other than Russian.

He's talking about Brighton Beach Brooklyn in the 1990s and about the nightclubs there

that served for Niki dumplings and sturgeon and vodka by the two-liter bottle.

Places like Tatiana's, the Rasputin, Odessa, all these very fancy restaurants that also operated as nightclubs

and there was this thriving kind of social scene around those nightclubs which often led to criminal activity

and became the focus of the organized crime community in New York at that time.

McCabe joined the FBI in 1996 and one of his first assignments was investigating the Russian mob.

Which was a new thing in those days.

He investigated terrorism cases.

He rose to the top of the FBI.

He investigated Hillary Clinton and the Trump campaign.

And that's where the trouble began.

With James Comey out of the FBI acting director Andrew McCabe has taken over the Russian investigation.

It is well documented that he has had some very troubling behavior and by most accounts a bad actor.
