Summary

Megan Balizer was born in Amarillo, Texas and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Farm and mountain were her influences growing up, She enjoyed spending a lot of her childhood outside and adventuring over most of the United States before kindergarten. She ended up attending and graduating from University of Texas at Austin. She studied agriculture, primarily planning to continue working on her family’s farm in Texas. She ended up in San Diego and she wrote a book about how others can improve their lives by not adhering to all of the social norms as it relates to relationships. More about Megan: ” M.K Rave is my pen name. My real name is Megan Kathleen Balizer and I identify as a badass female whose preferred pronouns are her/she. I’m also an addict and a follower of Christ. I get that it is an anomaly for most, because of the way I look or how I speak, but I’m here to be the perfect example that I am loved no matter what.

I definitely don’t mind getting my hands dirty to stand up for my beliefs or to advocate for others when they call on me. I’m loud and eccentric and, for me, it’s not an impressive resume that matters, but hyping up anyone who dropped out of college like I did to chase your dreams has a special place in my heart.
I’m 33 years old and I have used my passions for Dance, Modeling, Theatre, and Writing to lead the way outside of my hometown of Santa Fe, New Mexico. I found myself cultured and educated by a school money can’t buy. The world around me has been my greatest teacher and it would be in my travels that I discover my desire to be of service. I am now a mother of two beautiful children and they have been my greatest teachers to date. After many years of struggling with active addiction, I would find refuge in a church that would be my pipeline to help others and find my own spiritual walk into fully accepting that I was NOT God. By letting my nomadic lifestyle lead the way, I came across many relationships that I forged love out of and learned about codependency with romance. My entire love career would speak volumes of how much heartache and beauty are credited for shaping my life.
Being a sex and love addict took me overseas, next door, and into my own home when I finally decided enough was enough. Healing the wounds that both, myself and others, created was the endgame for me and now that I have children of my own, I want them to have the knowledge I didn’t, and address the qualms around love and sex. It is a balancing act that I am constantly performing to keep my mental and spiritual health in alignment with the hard truth about my past.
My entire journey will play the biggest role in how I raise good humans who aren’t afraid to be themselves. I want their self-confidence to exceed in ways that I didn’t know were possible and be a beam of light for anyone who has ever been told they weren’t good enough. I now can say my children have a mother with a voice to make a change and help them BE the change.”

So with your permission, we're going to start with where you were born, go all the way up to today, and we want to talk about this amazing book that you wrote.
1:05.4	And we also want to talk about the things that you're doing to help people with regard to what you wrote the book about, right?

1:16.2	you and I met on the beach at Sunset Cliffs,
1:19.6	you were doing a yoga workshop for one. I'm just joking, but it was cool and we struck up a conversation
1:28.4	about how they used to have yoga classes there and that kind of thing and the city of San Diego decided to get involved and it's always, you know, Ronald Reagan once said the scariest thing in the world is when somebody shows up and says I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
