On today's special episode, we're going to be going through the baseline assumptions about

how the Catholic Church reasons when someone who cooperates with sin is actually at fault versus when someone who cooperates with sin is actually at fault versus when someone who cooperates with sin is not.

It's the most common thing that I'm asked by email, text, local supporters, all ask the same

thing. Can I watch a film that takes the Lord's name in pain? This is the one

that comes up a lot. Can I attend a Catholic's wedding who apostatized and is getting married not in

the church or getting married to a Protestant or became a Protestant or even at the more

obvious level, a lot of boomers will ask, can I go to a gay wedding?

A Catholic boomer will ask something like that.

Am I cooperating in the sin of a gay wedding?

You have to understand the principle behind the question

whether or not your cooperation was formal, proximate material, remote material.

And this is the entire basis for the answer.

So you don't have to go through and ask your priest or your canon lawyer or your nearest Catholic philosopher if you understand the principle.

And that's what I thought I would do.

So I don't just have to keep sending out emails.

This is the closest thing to what a Catholic ethics doctorate would look like,

and this is one of the candidates, not necessarily cooperation, but action theory is one of the

foremost candidates for what I would do my doctorate on if I had to pick today. That's going to be

the episode. It's really, really practical stuff.
