the Japanese-American population faced increased scrutiny, prejudice,

and for tens of thousands of them, years of internment in concentration camps. Nevertheless, many young

Japanese-American men willingly signed up to fight for the United States, and their tale is told

in facing the mountain by the best-selling author Daniel James Brown. I spoke to Daniel about

the battles they faced on the front line

and that their families faced back home.
