All right. Well, good evening and welcome to those of you who are watching online. We welcome you.

If you're watching live, if not, you're watching after when it is completed. We are tonight going to

complete the Book of Proverbs. On Thursday nights, we've been going through

the Bible, book by book, and chapter by chapter, and verse by verse. And tonight, Proverbs

chapter 31. I'll invite you online to turn there if you're not there already, and those

of you here as well. Really looking forward to what

the Lord has for us tonight in what is arguably a very well-known chapter. And it might seem strange

in teaching through this chapter, but I want to talk about forgetting the past,

and I'll explain why. I don't know if you knew this or not, but it is believed that Solomon

is writing about his mother in this chapter.

That's interesting. You know who Solomon's mother is?

Bathsheba. Really? Oh, wait a minute. She has a past.

Kind of a scandalous past. You know what happened, right? Yeah, she was bathing one night.

And King David, when he was supposed to be at war, stayed back, saw her, sent for her, committed adultery with her. That's her.

And she's now this virtuous woman, this godly wife, Bathsheba?

Yeah.

Despite her scandalous past, God as only he can,ave her and she at this point in her life has become this godly woman

and this virtuous wife. As we go through this chapter, I want you to view it through the lens of God's mercy and grace.

You know who Solomon's dad was, right? You know, Father's Day is this Sunday.

Perfect. Perfect timing. Very interesting. The role that Solomon's mother had would seemingly,

according to this chapter here in God's word, which is why I believe that God deemed it necessary

to include in his word, it would seem to indicate that his mother had a profound and powerful
