Hey, hey, I hope you're doing good. It's Alex here from Amen Podcasts. And today we're talking about

forgetting the future. All the kids right now are on quiet time, something that we do every day,

like a 90-minute quiet time where they can just read or play or sleep. And Lockelaani and I take this time to recharge or to knock out some podcast stuff.

So that's what we're here to do.

And I want to start off by just probably just telling a little story that you can definitely

relate to.

I remember one time going to Walmart with my mom and we were in like the clothing

section and I was at that age where everything in the clothing section is taller than me.

And so I lost track of her and I couldn't see her through like the, you know, all the retail.

And so I'm like following through this thing that feels like a maze

trying to find my mom. And I make it like the middle of the maze, which is where the dressing

rooms are at Walmart. And one of the workers just sees me alone with the distraught look on my

face. And she asked me if I was lost. And I said, yeah. And so

I was so embarrassed. She took me over to the intercom and asked me my name and then said on the

intercom, we're looking for the mother of Alex Wilson. and I was so embarrassed.

I felt like the whole store was looking at me, and I just felt so lost.

And I also felt forgotten.

And that is like the feeling that as a child haunts us.

And that's the reason why every Disney movie, the real problem is being forgotten.

Andy with his toys, they don't want to be forgotten.

Nemo doesn't want to be forgotten.

Simba thinks he wants to be forgotten, but once he starts to feel forgotten, he doesn't like it.
