Summary

Brittany from West Virginia learned that lesson the hard way. First, an elderly woman with perfect blue-rinse hair snuggles into bed beside eight-year-old Brittany, politely shaking her head “no” when asked if murder is on the menu—southern hospitality, but make it spectral. Then the family greyhound becomes a four-legged alarm system, staring down an attic no one dares enter and barking at something only the afterlife could love. Throw in a silent little girl who prefers midnight staring contests, and you’ve got a forever home that really means forever.
