I am joined this week by my friend and partner in crime, James Rushton. He and I have been

writing together for the better part of a year now. Mostly, in fact, I would say almost exclusively

on the war in Ukraine and James, as readers of our work, would know lives in Kiev, where for the

past month Russia has conducted what I think is fair to call a reign of terror of missile strikes,

drone attacks on the Ukrainian capital, although rather hearteningly and perhaps even miraculously,

most of the incoming has been successfully intercepted by Ukrainian air defense systems,

including the US-made Patriot missile system that arrived several months ago. James,

though, and I have daily, almost hourly, conversations, some of which have been interrupted by

air raid sirens and, you know, the kind of, I would say, lingering fear of what might be

fall. And I'm going to let him sort of describe the atmosphere in Kiev, and also we're going to
