Hello and welcome to the Byron York Show, the no-shit chat podcast. We like to get right into it.

What we're going to get into today is what you might call

forecast to hard years. Now, you know those people who tell you that a devastating recession,

maybe a depression, is on the way or that this and that investment is guaranteed to skyrocket or

collapse in the next few months and the ones who very confidently predict coming doom or prosperity.

Why should you listen to them? I mean, after all, who knows what's going to happen with the economy?

Okay. Politics is a little bit different. Obviously, surprises do happen,

but now we are beginning to see the shape of the next two years in American politics,

kind of coming into view, shape, becoming obvious, and it is not. It is not a happy subject,

which is why I said, two hard years. So the recent, let's just take an overview here. The

recent midterm elections revealed fundamental problems for both parties in Congress and in addition

to that, there are growing signs that the 2024 presidential race, which is now underway even though

just one candidate has formally announced, will be unlike any other in American history and not

in a good way. So in other words, 2023 and 2024 could be very difficult years in the country's

political life. So here we go, starting with the midterms. You've seen a lot of analyses suggesting

that our president, Joe Biden, came out of the quote, winner in the House and Senate elections.

In the Hill, the Hill summation of what they called winners and losers of the 2022 midterms,
