They're sort of paid for ride hailing service, but kind of not really because only for a few

invited influencers and financial analysts, and it's only in a small part of a certain area.

Let's start with news of Ford's new EV platform targeting low costs. Lisa Drake, head of Ford's

EV manufacturing program, briefed investors at a dinner hosted by Bernstein analyst Daniel Roska last week.

The new battery electric platform can support up to eight body styles, Ford say,

pickups, crossovers and possibly sedans.

The first will be the mid-sized pickup that would effectively be the all-electric Ford Ranger.

Ford will pair the low-cost platform with LFP prismatic-shaped batteries, or cells, I should say,

with you would think a co-development with CATL, obviously a very anti-China thing in the US right now, though.

Built in the US to cut costs, lower pack prices will be central to the plan

and the message from Drake, not that this was an on-the-record moment for her, she said something

along the lines of Ford aiming to match the cost structure of the leading Chinese players.
