how important a name really is.

Steve, how's it going, sir?

July 24th, 2004, nearly 10 months from the release of Revenge of the would be called. Any details that could be given were welcomed. And the best place to do it was

in the newly built Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con. Maybe you've all seen that famous picture of head of

fan relations Steve Sansweet ripping open his shirt to revealing a t-shirt

donning the title Revenge of the Sith. Well, I called

Steve up and got the story. How did we get here? On this week's Force Cast Rewind,

we'll find out just how that title reveal came to be.

Well, I was working at Lucasfilm at the time, but you're really pushing my memory buttons there and my memory

on episode one of a phantom menace was that there was some consternation in among some people at

Lucasfilm with the title. I mean George had come up with the title not having read

the script yet.

Ver issue of us knew what the heck it meant,

but it was a wonderful throwback

to the kinds of serial titles that you had with Commander Cody and Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon,

the 1930s, which of course were George's inspiration in large part along with Kurosawa movies for Star Wars.

He wanted to try to recapture the feel of those early action cereals that were in the movie theaters.

And the titles were released.
