You'd be forgiven for thinking a city like this is about as far as you can get

from the stately splendor of royalty.

But in fact there are monarchists here and I'm one of them.

My name is Jay Anthony McAllister.

I'm 29 years old, a black American born right here in Los Angeles of Scottish

and Canadian descent.

I'm a classically trained musician and I'm the president of the Los Angeles

chapter of the International Monarchist League.

Last week on this program you heard some very nice people claim that

monarchy is bad and should be done away with.

Well today the BBC is letting me set the record straight.

Don't expect an impartial account.

Today's program will be devoted exclusively to explaining and defending
