interview ready to go, but after recent events and a very last minute interview,

I decided that tonight I want you to hear about Brandon because Brandon's story

deserves to be heard. On December 22nd, 1997, the front page of the Arizona Republic read,

Quads lack limelight of septuplets.

Valley parents need basics to cope with

newborns and the story to follow was about a woman named Elizabeth Whittle who was anticipating the birth of her

quadruplets with her boyfriend Anthony Perez and while overjoyed with the news, the couple was just not prepared to take care of four new babies.

While living in a one bedroom apartment and busy taking care of

their first-born daughter who was born with Down syndrome. That story got a lot of attention

and was met with so much love.

Because so many people wanted to help give to this family however they could.

And on January 9, 1998, Elizabeth gave birth to four beautiful babies, and everyone rejoiced.

Three months later, the quadruplets were hospitalized with broken bones, skull fractures, and brain injuries. injuries.

Wittle claimed that her babies were born with brittle bone disease.

And then she claimed that possibly her six-year-old daughter who had Down Syndrome was responsible for their injuries.

Whittle was sentenced to 172 years in prison, but released after only serving a 17-year sentence.

I shared the story of the Avondale Quads back in May of 2019. And it breaks my heart to bring you this story tonight.
