I am your good friend and host Steve Roberts.

And back here on the Wednesday edition of the yard, it's been a busy day here.

And before we get not too deep into reads, let's go ahead and talk a little bit about some sad news at Haddusburg, Mississippi.

Former Mississippi State commitment, former Ole Miss player,

and current Southern Miss cornerback, MJ Daniels.

Gun down.

Last night, just blocks away from M.M. Robert Stadium there in Hedisburg.

The details are very sketchy at this point.

It's a very difficult thing to understand and one of the

things that I guess that confuses me about life in many respects is understanding

why young people die. It's true. That's the one thing. And of course we don't know all the

details. Not going to sit here and assign motive or anything like that. We just don't know

what happened. But we know a young man lost his life. A young man that at one time was

very coveted by your football program and your fan base.

And it was talk about him transferring here from Ole Miss.

And that was a very real thing for a while.

And then he elected to stay at Old Miss.

But this is not about a rivalry.

This is not about social commentary.

The bottom line is this, is that a young man who was loved dearly

by a lot of people is gone. And our thoughts and prayers go out to MJ Daniels, his family
