0:51.0	investing lessons. So first up, we have Chris Hill. You know him as the host of
0:55.3	the Motley Fool Money and Market Foolery podcast. The stock that taught me my greatest investing
1:00.7	lesson is Ligand Pharmaceuticals. The ticker symbol is LGND. It was early 2003, and
1:08.9	Ligand was featured in an annual write-up of stocks that the Motley
1:12.7	Fool's investing team had put together.
1:15.4	Now, I didn't have any biopharmaceutical stocks in my portfolio, and the guy who recommended
1:20.9	it, he was smart.
1:21.8	He knew the industry, so I read his report three times, and I bought a couple hundred shares.
1:29.3	And within just a few months,
1:37.1	the stock price doubled. Also, during that time, I started losing sleep. I would wake up in the middle of the night, and when I tried to get back to sleep, I found myself thinking
1:41.7	about this company because I didn't really understand what they did.
1:47.1	It was a real distraction. I was literally losing sleep over a stock that had gone up.
