| 0:39.1 | Peace be with you. Friends, our readings for this weekend are just fantastic and |
| 0:45.1 | they touch on themes that are just so basic to the spiritual life. So I'll just |
| 0:50.6 | hit a couple of them. You know, the first reading from the book of Exodus, I go |
| 0:54.6 | back to the great origin, one of the church fathers who did these marvelous |
| 0:59.4 | sermons on Exodus. And he read the story of the liberation of the Israelites |
| 1:04.4 | slaves as a story of spiritual liberation. And once you crack that code, the |
| 1:10.2 | story begins to open up in extraordinary ways. And we're reading today now from |
| 1:14.0 | the 16th chapter of Exodus. Can I urge everyone, you know, on these more |
| 1:18.0 | reflective times of summer, you know, take out your Bibles and read through |
| 1:23.1 | the book of Exodus. It wouldn't take you all that long to read through it. Much |
| 1:26.4 | of it familiar. But with this lens over your your mind's eye, namely, it's all |
| 1:32.7 | about the the trials, tribulations, opportunities, joys and dangers of |
| 1:39.9 | spiritual transformation. So listen now is the first reading begins for today. The |
| 1:45.5 | whole Israelite community grumble against Moses and Aaron. They said, would |
| 1:51.0 | that we had died at the Lord's hand in the land of Egypt as we sat by our |
