You're just so sleepy after the meal. All you want to do is take a nap.

Fun fact, in scientific terms, this is called postprandial somnolence.

Postprandial means after a meal, and somnolence means drowsiness and I'm about to tell you why it happens and how to avoid it.

So when you eat your pancreas releases insulin to help your stomach absorb glucose from the carbohydrates in the meal.
