A good time to head to that place where all over the UK we've

always gathered for food, friendship and a cheering drink.

I think throughout British history the pub is much more than just a shop that sells drinks.

If you took someone from maybe the 10th century and brought them forward to the 21st,

possibly the only things they would recognize would be the pub and the church.

And there's a lot of clergymen who would argue that out of the two, the pub has had the greatest

contribution to British society.
