Summary
In August 2023, Soleil went to Folly Beach in South Carolina with her husband and two friends to catch the end of the Perseid meteor shower. While stargazing, Soleil noticed a light in the sky that transitioned from a blue triangle to a vivid, flashing "rainbow" strobe that appeared to respond to her thoughts. This moment began a profound shared experience between the group of friends on the beach, and continued into the following day.

| 0:09.5 | I'm your host, Jack Wagner. |
| 0:12.0 | Last year, I remember we got an email from a girl named Saleh. |
| 0:16.2 | That was so wild that our producer, Nikki, walked over into the little studio where I do my editing |
| 0:23.0 | and told me to come read it, which was kind of unusual. |
| 0:27.5 | When I read it, I understood why. |
| 0:30.3 | It really was a wild and magical story. |
| 0:34.4 | It was also a story that Soleil expressed hesitation in sharing because she said it's long and difficult to explain without feeling like she sounds crazy. |
| 0:46.3 | However, it left a major impact on her and the friends she experienced it with and it genuinely altered the course of her life. |
| 0:57.0 | I ended up doing four long interviews with Soleil. |
| 1:00.6 | I also spoke to her friends. |
| 1:02.8 | Part of what I do on the show and what takes up most of my time |
| 1:06.9 | is listening to actually understand what happened to a person and then helping them explain it |
| 1:13.6 | in a way that the audience can then understand it. And then, of course, editing all of that into what |
| 1:20.2 | you finally hear on Otherworld. This one ended up being nine hours of interviews, which, as you can imagine, is a lot of editing. |
| 1:31.1 | And after working at a puzzle of a story for so long, it's kind of easy to get lost in it and feel unsure if it's actually done or if I've done my job of making it make sense, you kind of start to question yourself |
| 1:46.9 | after a certain point. And sometimes I kind of start feeling a bit like Solay described feeling |
| 1:54.0 | in terms of her hesitation to share this story. But recently, I've decided that with episodes like this where I I might never feel like I've actually finished it, it's best to just put it out in Patreon and let people actually listen to it. |
| 2:11.9 | If you think I'm exaggerating or playing up the weirdness of certain stories or getting lost in it or whatever. |
| 2:18.6 | I have a bizarre little anecdote that I could share with you that occurred during the very |
| 2:24.7 | first interview that I did with Soleil. I actually forgot about this completely until today. |
| 2:31.9 | Like I said, this was the first conversation I had with her. We had barely said hello. |
