Why are you so grateful for this project?

Well, just after the breakup of the Soviet Union, I had the opportunity to go over there many many times I think maybe a dozen times

And every time I went over there I was struck by the spiritual devotion of the church in the Soviet Union, the former Soviet Union.

Obviously they had been under communism.

Christianity was virtually illegal.

Many of the pastors had been sent to the gulags. They've been put in prison. Many, many of them put in prison and kept in prison for years.

So the price for being a Christian was really high.

Right. And so you had these true Christians. So the price for being a Christian was really high.
