Summary

Most Christians don't know how to talk about Jesus. They know they ought to share their faith, but evangelism methods feel awkward and pushy. Feeling guilty and discouraged, many believers simply avoid the subject altogether. But what if there was a simple, normal way to introduce people to Jesus, without sounding like you're selling something? David McIver shares from his book "Looking for the One: Stories of Seeing the Lost, Lonely, and Broken Through the Eyes of Jesus."

I listened to a podcast recently where this young man shared about this encounter he had with God,

and the Lord brought back a memory of when he was in college.

There was this foreign exchange student sitting on the

floor by himself, and this young man just went and sat next to him, so he wouldn't be alone. He didn't preach the gospel. He didn't give a four-point sermon. He just sat with him. He said, hi, and he was kind to him. And in this encounter with the Lord, the Lord spoke to him and said, You remember that? He said, I'll never forget it. And then he said to this young man,

1:12.5

I'll never forget that you did that for me. And that's so biblical, because Jesus is what you do for the least of these you'll do for me. That hit me. It just thundered in my heart. Jesus saying, I'll never forget it. It meant so much to me. I want you to think about that. And this young man went on to say, and this is my paraphrase, as I remember it, but he said, with the Lord, there are no small things. There are no little things. Everything matters to him. And since I know that now, this young man went on to say, he said, I'm more restful in my approach to evangelism. I do my part. And then I trust

God to do his part. He says, sometimes I share the gospel, but sometimes I just sense I'm supposed to

they're yours now. Go get them. Send more laborers for the harvest. And just hit me so hard.

I just thought, you know, we do

make things so complicated. And then we put pressure on ourselves to be someone we're not.

And then we berate ourselves for not having the evangelism gift. And then we constantly deal with
