October has been designated pastor's appreciation month.

So we're focusing on encouraging church leaders.

In a few minutes, Crawford-Loritz will share a pastor's heart.

He'll show you some practical ways to encourage God-given leaders in your church.

But first, we'll hear from Nancy DeMoss-Walkimuth. She's taking us to scripture to show us why it's so important to encourage our pastors. There's a man in my church who was a pastor for many years,

and we were talking recently about this subject of how we as members of the

church can appreciate and encourage and support our spiritual leaders in our churches.

And he handed me this list that he had written of ways to discourage your pastor. And I want to share

some of those with you, 15 ways to discourage your pastor. Number one, listen to the

scriptures being taught, but don't obey the teaching. Show irritation when an important point in

the pastor's message takes his sermon to 1205. Start a gossip chain. Consistently show up to the church

service is five or ten minutes late.

And I would add to that, be sporadic in your attendance.

Come when you feel like it or when you can manage to get the kids up on time, be sporadic.

That'll discourage your pastor for sure.
