Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic and Mike Graham right here on talk TV.

Lots going on, of course, this morning.

It is a Monday morning as we sashay into the sort of middle part of July.

It's quite a pleasant day out there.

Wimbledon is still on.

Not for the Russians playing at Wimbledon, it seems to me, this year.

And I know that that shouldn't be surprising because they weren't allowed to play last year.

But as I said to Kevin O'Sullivan just now, and thanks to him for warming me up for this show today at 10 o'clock.

He'll be back with me at 9.30 tomorrow.

It's the fact that they weren't in evidence last year because, of course, due to the Ukraine war, they weren't allowed to play. But I watched two matches yesterday, all four players, two women and two men, all from Russia. Seems extraordinary. I don't think

there is any reason not to have them play there. It just was something I thought was worth

commenting on. But let's talk about the main business at hand, which is, of course, the BBC story

this morning. Once again, the son leading the way this morning

with a headline which basically says suspended BBC man's panic calls to youngsters, because

it now turns out that not only was the mother of this youngster in touch with the BBC,

she then got in touch with the son to say something needs to be done. Seven weeks ago,

she made the complaint to the BBC and literally nothing happened it wasn't until yesterday that finally the BBC took a decision and suspended the individual who has still not been named although there's all sorts of names floating about in the ether and on the internet and even on the streets of our cities people are talking about about it. Lots of people are passing around pictures.
