So I've been working as an AV contractor for the last three years professionally, and before

that I worked in various churches and did sort of like odd jobs in the same field, and I've

seen a variety of skill

levels and production management and the people working, but probably single-handedly, like,

the worst thing I've ever seen, like, or the advice that I was given for a show set up,

was pertaining to one of the lighting towers. And for those who don't know, these things

probably weigh anywhere between like two, I have around 200 pounds and about 10 to 16 feet tall,

depending on what kind of trust you use. And we have these big heavy steel plates at the bottom

and throw a bunch of sandbags on them to keep them stable during a show. When I was told by my

production manager, that the weight of the baseplate didn't matter. Pretty much the issue that

we had was we had a really tall, heavy lighting tower, and we had a base plate that was too small,

and that we couldn't get the thing to balance. So we're all scratching our heads, wondering who put them in charge,

and why is getting paid more than us.

It doesn't understand the simple concept of if you have a tall,

unstable object, you need a really big heavy base plate at the bottom.

So I guess we should have used cardboard ones.
