But before we get to that, I just wanted to take a minute

and talk about the decision ruled recently

by the district attorney in Piscatant County, Andrew Wamble in the case of Andrew Brown Jr.

This week District Attorney Wamble came out and said that the shooting of Andrew Brown Jr.

was a justified shooting and that the officers in this case would not face any state criminal charges.

Later in the day, the sheriff stated that the officers would not lose their job,

however they would be disciplined, quote unquote, disciplined and retrained.

Needless to say as an attorney who represents the Brown family,

not just Gerard and Khalil,

but also his five younger children. This was a very disappointing

outcome but not one that was unexpected. Many may not know that just last

week we sent a letter to the district attorney pursuant to North Carolina state law asking the district attorney to recuse himself.

And the reason we took that step is because after finding out who the officers

were who fired shots we were able to come to the conclusion that these officers for

the better part of a decade have been working with
