bomb attack in a Manchester arena stole the lives of 22 people, and after the initial wave of anguish,

British officials pivoted to the investigation and a new mood, fury.

Investigators are furious over American leaks of key intelligence.

British authorities are now furious that their photos shared with American counter-terrorism

officials have leaked out. Well, they're furious. There's no question about it.

Their fury was aimed on Tuesday at America's leaky intelligence officials in American news

media, especially NBC and CBS for revealing the bomber's name. And then on Wednesday at the

New York Times for printing photos of the bomb site, bomb fragments, its switch, and descriptions

by Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter C.J. Chivers of the bomb itself, apparently crafted with

expertise far beyond that of the bomber. CBS correspondent Mark Phillips said that for the British

authorities, that was the epitome of too much information.

That information can be used to pinpoint where this thing might have come from,

and that would indicate to the people who built the bomb that the police were on to them.

Now, the UK officials didn't evince American-style fury. No one was body-slammed.

It was the British kind involving tight lips and inward seething,

Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham.

To have information put in the public domain

before it was put there by people here is just wrong.

The British police and security services need to be in the lead

when this is a live investigation. Otherwise, said British Home Secretary Amber Rudd, they could
