There is a need, there's an opportunity, there are blessings to be had if families would consider adoption.

My first guest today is Paul Vittura, the vice president of communications for focus on the family.

coming on takeaways. Kirk, it's great to be with you. Well, adoption is a big part of your

family's story and my family's story.

And I love that you are helping us understand that people that are very famous,

that we never knew we're adopted. Actually, we're able to impact the world, not in spite of their adoption,

but because of their adoption. No, that's exactly right.

And as you know, you and Chelsea can relate to this, but when you're raising children who are

adopted, at least from my perspective, we wanted to try and encourage them to remind them

that they weren't operating behind the curve, that they had an opportunity here to do something

great.

And so we would tell them stories at night about well-known people who were adopted.

And so much, in fact, I think they almost started to think that everybody was adopted.

And that can be a little bit too much.

But that's what motivated me to just put these stories down on paper and share them with other people.

You know, my wife, Chelsea, and I, we adopted our first four kids and my wife Chelsea is an adopted child. So is her

brother. So this was very, very familiar and natural to her. But adoption is such a beautiful

picture of God's love for us as his children. And I want to talk all about it.
