Anthony Fauchy, the director of the National Institutes for Health. I talked to Dr. Fauchy over the weekend as I record this on Monday.

I actually spoke to him late for late Saturday afternoon. We had a conversation of about 19 minutes and you are going to hear that entire

conversation and a few things before we get started a bunch bunch of people reached out to me and said,

wow, how'd you get Fauchy? Well, I have to give credit where credit is due.

A friend of mine, Ken Bson for the New York Times,

a couple of weeks ago, had an interview

with a fellow New York Times staff,

or they went to Washington, and interviewed Dr. Fauchy and I reached out to him a week or so ago and I said, hey, do you have any contact person who I might be in touch with about Fauchi.

And I said, hey, I know we're in a competitive business.

We don't feel good about sharing that, it's absolutely fine.

You know, and I figure, you know, I've been in this business a while,

I'll figure out who to be in touch with but he said no here it is good luck and and all that

so I emailed a woman at the National Institutes for Health and that started a chain. I think we ended up with

27 emails back and forth trying to arrange this and a couple of times it was on but then it was off and then finally I wrote to this

woman and I said listen I'd really like to write this for my column on Monday.

And so if you could get to me at all, even at a moment's notice,

anytime over the weekend, just let me know.

And so she said, okay, I will.

And so finally, after that, we worked it out.

I didn't think I was gonna get him at all.

And I'd say it was maybe 4.30 on Saturday afternoon.
