We've had a number of requests lately to talk about fall trout fishing, no surprise.

And so I'll share with you a few things I've found over the years on in fall trout fishing.

The first and best thing about fall trout fishing is that streams are uncrowded.

Now you need to check the regulations

to make sure that travel season is still open

on this particular stream you want to fish

because it may be uncrowded because it's

illegal to fish there.

But in most parts of the country we have year-round

trout fishing or extended season trout fishing. Back in the old days, trout season in most places

would end September 30th but that's that's been extended in

in most states in the country. So the best thing about the best thing about

fall trout fishing is you just won't have any competition.

You'll seldom have to worry about canoes or intertubes getting in your way.

You won't see many flyfishers at all. You won't probably see many anglers on the river and you can have a whole

stream to yourself. The weather is usually nice, cool, crisp fall foliage. Great time to be on the stream.

The water conditions are usually good in the fall.
