So the Trump administration appears to be shifting its immigration enforcement strategy in

Minnesota.

The person leading the operation so far, top Border Patrol official Gregory Bovino, appears

to have been sidelined, with President Donald Trump saying

Bordersar Tom Homan was being dispatched to Minneapolis to oversee enforcement operations in the

city. Here's CNN's Priscilla Alvarez. Up until this point, the tactics Bovino had been using,

and the way in which he flaunted them, for example, on social media,

had been given the stamp of approval by senior leadership

at the Department of Homeland Security, so much so

that he had a unique command structure

and had been reporting directly to the secretary,

and that is not how it would normally be for someone with his job title.

And as this shakeup is unfolding, Trump seems to be striking a more conciliatory tone towards leaders in the state.

Trump has described the conversations he had with Minnesota Governor Tim Walls and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frye yesterday as great and respectful.

Meanwhile, First Lady Melania Trump told Fox News that Americans need to, quote,

unify and is called for peace. All of this comes as a Minnesota judge has ordered the acting

director of iced Todd Lyons to appear in a federal court this Friday. This is over his violation

of a judge's order to provide a man in ICE detention with a bond hearing within seven days

or release him from custody.
