Officials in Florida are turning to unconventional methods to try to find a mother of three that's been missing for over two years.

41-year-old Nicole Baldwin was last seen November 2nd, 2023.

State, local, and federal agencies have all joined the search, but her whereabouts remain a mystery.

So now Mount Dora investigators are turning to an Asian small- clawed

otter named Splash to crack the case. Mount Dora Sergeant Gary Hutchinson says in 30-plus years of

doing law enforcement using an otter like this as a first, but otters put out bubbles and then

they inhale the bubbles back in and that allows them to taste the water and alert to

presence of decomposition.

It might be his first rodeo, but it's not Splash's first rodeo.

He's been deployed on 27 missions, six of which resulted in positive IDs of evidence or human

remains.

Nicole Baldwin's husband remains a person of interest in the case.

He's serving a 15-year sentence for child pornography that was found during the initial investigation.
