Happy Meal just got a cosmic boost

This is StoryQuest. Today's story is Floria's fireworks.

There was absolutely nothing special about Floria, nothing at all, but that was all about to change. She was about 10, if that

matters. She studied, probably in a different way to you. And she had brothers and sisters.

Floria lived in a place where they didn't have a very colourful existence. It was a drab planet,

all beige and grey and black and white. But you see, Floria was very sensible.

They're a curious sort of sensible, and had been picking at the seashells down at the darkest beach,

and she found something rather interesting that had been washed up at the shore. Was it a recipe

book? Was it a chemical experiment? It was something labelled with bright colours.

And so, as any curious and sensible person would, she took it home to get a closer look.

Seemingly untouched by the water, it was entitled Scrolls of Light.

Picking through the pages and flicking off the odd crab, it seemed that this

strange book contained the instructions about how to make shows of light. Fireworks. Small ones,

big ones, gentle ebbing fairy lights, soft lights in red and yellow and pink and green, orange and purple and blue, and

every other hue as well. Quiet enjoyment manifested in shimmering portraits and colorful

quiet avalanches. And of course, for those that like the boom and the fizz, explosive displays
