Before real estate, Melissa worked with an Air Force contractor. Thinking that her career was a complete dead end, she got lured on to real estate because of the lifestyle that it offers. In 2003, she took action and started flipping houses in the thriving market of San Antonio, Texas. As her business continues to grow and expand with her success in flipping over 1000 houses, she built a portfolio of real estate notes and rental houses. Today, along with real estate, she branches out to several other businesses, coaches fellow investors, and empowers women to succeed in business.

List everything that you do, group similar tasks together, determine your pain point, decide if the seat makes sense to keep the business forward, place the right people in the right seats, provide tools and coach them to succeed.* Detaching yourself off the business isn’t necessary, especially if you’re enjoying what you’re doing.* Net is how you retire and build wealth.* Keep the leads in the system unless it’s proven sold.* Don’t force a deal. If the numbers don’t work, the numbers don’t work, except for you being well-versed in your market.* Don’t build (business) at the expense of everything else in your life that might be important to you.

working just, you know, a corporate job like we talked about. I was

working for a government contractor, kind of the cubicle situation. Real estate was not on my

radar at all. I didn't know anything about it, especially real estate investing. All I knew about
