Hello and welcome to the Fighter Pilot Podcast. I'm your host Vincent Iolo Carl Sangello and lately

0:40.1

on these episodes the non-numbered ones we've just been introducing the subject and maybe the

0:45.3

co-host and getting right to it and some of you audience members have complained that you sort of miss

0:50.7

the pre-2023 format with my usual jello isms and updates and listener questions so we're going to

0:58.0

change that up today and I've got Ken Katz joining me to just kind of banter a little bit we'll answer a

1:38.8

real job partly we've been doing proposal work for putting on a system on a new military aircraft

1:44.7

partly it's been sustaining our current products we're facing some very serious

1:49.7

challenges with the supply chain for electronic components and for aerospace systems if something

1:54.6

isn't available you just can't put on a replacement part it's a big deal because first the replacement

2:00.3

part itself has to be qualified to show that it complies with the specifications and then the

2:05.6

system that uses the part needs to be requalified with the new part and all that requires some

2:11.2

combination of analysis and tests so it's quite an expensive and time consuming exercise
