Hello, my friends. Welcome back. I'm glad you're here for the morning mindset. This is our

0:08.8

opportunity to get our minds aligned with the truth of God's work. Because as we do that,

0:13.2

we develop our faith. And did you realize that developing our faith is like building muscle

0:19.6

or stamina or endurance physically speaking? It's a very similar process and today we're going to

0:25.2

dive into a situation in the life of Abram where he has to flex his faith muscle in order to grow it

0:32.1

and he sees God come through. All right, let's look at Genesis 14 verses 13 through 16.

0:38.9

Now, we remember in yesterday's episode Abram's nephew Lot had gone to the land around Sodom and

0:45.7

Gomorrah, these two cities that were down in the plain of the area that they lived in. And these

0:52.2

nine kings come together in battle, totally unrelated to Lot, and they just sweep through the area

0:58.0

and some of the kings capture the city that Lot lives in and Lot is taken away into captivity.

1:05.3

Now in Genesis 14 verses 13 through 16, we're going to see Abram's response.

1:10.5

And this I would submit to you is an act of faith. Let's read it. It says them one who had escaped,

1:17.5

this is escaped from the battle of the nine kings, came and told Abram the Hebrew who was living

1:23.1

by the oaks of Mamray, the Amorite, brother of Ashkull and of Anor. These were allies of Abram.

1:30.4

So stop for a moment, Abram's living near this place where these three brothers live and they

1:34.8

become friends, they become allies. All right, beginning of verse 14 again, when Abram heard that his

1:39.9

kensmen had been taken captive, that's Lot. He led forth his trained men, born in his house,

1:47.1

318 of them, and went in pursuit as far as Dan. So Abram is mounting a rescue operation for his

1:55.4

nephew Lot in his family and all of his people. In verse 15, he divided his forces against them by

2:02.1

night, he and his servants, and defeated them, and pursued them to Hoban north of Damascus.

2:09.0

Then he brought back all the possessions and also brought back his kensmen Lot with his

2:13.5

possessions and the women and the people. The friends, I don't know about you, but this sounds like
