Summary

This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE!

For Stephanie Smith, childhood wasn’t defined by toys or bedtime stories—it was defined by shadows. The house her family called home was alive with something unseen, something that moved through rooms, whispered her name, and filled every night with dread. But when she tried to talk about it, her parents brushed it off, desperate to protect her from the truth: their home was haunted.

Years later, Stephanie would learn just how real those fears were. One terrifying night, the haunting escalated beyond denial—forcing her and her mother to flee the house in pure fear. Whatever was inside had made its message clear: get out.

That experience would change Stephanie’s life forever. Instead of running from the paranormal, she chose to confront it. As an adult, she became a paranormal investigator, determined to uncover the truths that once terrified her—and to help others understand the forces she grew up with.

Today on The Grave Talks, Stephanie Smith shares her story of fear, awakening, and empowerment. It’s proof that the things that haunt us as children can shape the paths we take as adults—and that sometimes, facing the darkness is the only way to take back control. This is Part Two of our conversation.

Welcome to part two of our conversation with Stephanie Smith about being watched.

0:05.3

Tell me more about your experiences in Alaska.

0:09.1

What are some of the other locations that you had moments at where you felt that you were in the presence of the supernatural?

0:19.6

So I found this kind of a downtown walking tour.

0:23.4

It's about a two-hour tour, a little bit of Anchorage, Alaska history,

0:28.7

mixed with the supernatural, the ghosts that are around the area.

0:33.2

And one place in particular, it's the Captain Cook Hotel that has three different towers in it.

0:39.7

And I believe it was Tower 2.

0:42.4

Whenever it was first built, they were having a celebration party for it.

0:48.2

There was a woman to this day, they still do not know who she was,

0:51.1

but she went into the bottom floor ladies room and shot herself

0:56.6

in the last stall on the left. And so this tour actually goes in there. Now obviously, only the

1:02.4

ladies are allowed in the restroom, you know, and so of course, you got all these ladies in there,

1:06.4

and they're all trying to take pictures and everything. So it's a little chaotic. And so when I was done with the

1:12.5

tour, I decided to go back to that bathroom on my own. And I waited until there was nobody in there.

1:18.0

And I was trying to talk to this woman because, you know, they actually have that hers. They're calling it

1:23.7

her stall. They actually have it soldered shut so that nobody can use it because people that have, you know, sat on the toilet have gotten their ankles grabbed. They've seen the hands come over the, over the top of the stall and shaking the door really, really hard and furiously, like in a really angry manner. And so they just blocked it off saying, that's hers, you know, nobody's a lot of use it. So I went back in there and I'm talking to her. I'm trying to get something. I'm trying to get an EBP. I'm trying to get an orb, something. And I'm getting nothing at all. And I spent a good 15, 20 minutes in there just by myself. And then finally, I was just, I was like, all right, I guess I'm just gonna go I'm not gonna get anything

2:02.0

and right before I walked out of that door I just I turned around and I looked back that stall

2:07.1

and I said I am so sorry that whatever was going on in your life that you felt that this was the

2:12.8

only way out and it was like this rush of energy that just overtook my entire body. And it felt so

2:22.5

sad like somebody had just ripped the sun from the sky and nothing would ever be okay again.

2:28.2

It made me feel that severe depression. And I think that's actually what she felt when she took her life, you know, that literally nothing was ever going to be okay. Nothing would ever make anything okay. Yeah. It was it was the worst feeling I've ever had in my entire life. And I just, and I just quickly, I had tears in my eyes. And I just, I thanked her for her time and I just walked out and just
