We are live on the conversations that matter of podcast. I hope everyone can hear me all right. If you can't leave a comment in the chat section there. I think everything's working properly though. And we have a lot of things to talk about today. One main

topic in particular which is what's going on in France and how this relates to

evangelical leaders and they're teaching on the topic of immigration,

migration, refugees, all of that.

Not comprehensive, but I think illustrative of what has gone wrong really in the last few years the

last decade really in evangelical circles. I have certainly touched on aspects of what I'm about to say today in other podcasts and

emphasize different things, but I just think that this particular situation in France is an opportunity to highlight once again how we seem to lack a biblically informed but it's more than that it's just a it's one thing to be

biblically informed which is what we need but there's something else beyond that.

Something that's so fundamental to who people ought to be,

to act within their own self-interest.

I'm not talking about selfishness in a negative sense,

but just preserving what is theirs,

preserving the identity of their people,

of their family, of the safety of their children, the things that are natural to fathers and

mothers and people in society in general if you're connected to other people you just, whether you're Christian or not, there are certain things that God is wired into creation, right?

And this is what I think evangelicals have been struggling against now for years.

And so anyway, I want to talk about one area where I think they've been struggling for some reason.

And that's on this area of immigration,

migration, refugee crises, all of that. So to get started I want to take us all on a trip down memory lane.
