So it stood outside one of the popular supermarkets in Peterborough.

It's on the outskirts of the village of Stanground and it crosses one of the main thoroughfares into the city centre.

In the middle there's a roundabout and hoisted on several of the lamp posts are St George's flags, Union Jack flags,

as one lady described it, pretty much on every lump post going.

And in the last few weeks, like lots of places in England, it's been covered in flags.

It's a touchy subject, didn't it? Why do you say it's touching? Well, obviously, it's got an underlying message of, you know, people have had enough. Union Jack flags are flying high. St George's crosses have been mounted onto the city's Parkway bridges, and you can see them graffeted on mini roundabouts, pavements, underpasses.
