An optimistic title to start 2019. Why write a book about fiber at this point in time?

Well, Americans by and large don't travel a lot, but I've been privileged to go to South Korea and Japan and Sweden and all kinds of China,

and notice that what's going on in those countries is that they just take ubiquitous, really cheap,

basically unlimited connectivity for granted.

And I began to dig into that and find out why that is and why in the United States
